Peter Zinovieff passed away on June 23, 2021. If you’ve never heard of him, you’ve at least heard the synth his company (EMS) created. Everyone in the 70’s and onward used it (Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream, Pink Floyd, the Who, Jean Michel Jarre, Aphex Twins, Chemical Brothers, Brian Eno, Hawkwind, Led Zeppelin). I saw a “reunion” of Roxy Music in LA in like 2000. I thought it would be terrible, but it was good. Instead of Eno there were two women, and each was playing a VCS3. It was pretty cool.
