Has anyone made the Oblique Strategies as a VCV module? So you can trigger it from Marbles for example and get random ideas.
Who’s gonna do it?
Peace!

I think the OS text itself is copyrighted, so it’s not something you can freely do without paying.
Maybe reach out to Brian Eno? He might be up for a collaboration. I’m assuming he knows about VCV Rack (I’m sure he does).
Or if someone make their own with our own strategies: mine “use a liquid filter by the end of the chain”.
Now we need like thousand more. Its a good start!
Oh that sounds like fun !
I think it’s a great idea to collect our own materials for cards. However, perhaps we first should decide on a flavor for them.
So, there is the original Brian Eno cards (Oblique Strategies - Wikipedia), which seem to deal with general strategies for creativity on a rather high ‘meta’ level. One can already find several variations of this online.
And then there is Patch: The Card Game, which seems to be more specific for modular synthesis, and even Omri Cohen played it in one of his live streams. This flavor might be more for fitting for VCV Rack.
I am sure we could collect plenty of additional ideas here. However, to not infringe on any copyright, we should not simply copy strategies from any of the commercial games, but come up with novel ones.
My current favorite would be:
“Self-patch output(s) of a module back into its input(s). Make sure the patch does not explode.”
Hope this one has not yet been taken by the commercial games.
There can be a public repo where people can submit there cards in markdown, on each commit it gets compiled into json and gets loaded into the module.
The OS cards are mostly meta level, but occasionally it will get terribly specific.
