Hello all, first post here, I took the time to look around and could not find an answer to this.
I was trying to sample voltages on the hardware marbles and had issues saving the sampled values so I decided to experiment within vcv to check the behavior of the module.
I realised that when I set the module to external processing and put all the settings to unquantized and shift register as per the manual, I am unable to obtain the same value at the output of the random sampler as what I put in. No matter what transpose or range setting I dial, it does not track voltage as I understand it should.
Weird. So I think that could be a scaling issue with the software version, I patched a simple sequence C3-C5-C4, and the result is: A4-A5-D#5. So now we should compensate the rescaling by… re-rescaling. You need an Offset module by Bogaudio, set it to -5v, 2x scale after or before Marbles. Et voila!
EDIT: Aaaah!I just noticed that my spread knob is all the way up… Wait a second. Also the sequence on the screenshot is not C3-C5-C4, that was the other one, just to check if it tracks everything fine
So offset should be -2,5v for spread at 12 o’clock position
Could be that there is a better way to do it, maybe something with the module settings… But it works this way too and it’s one extra module to compensate for this bug. You should write to the developer, btw. I think the developer is VCV, so that’s convenient!
