Recreating the Blade Runner theme - this is genius
Thanks for the ego boost
Cheers, glad you like it
Thanks Rick!
Thanks Lars.
Yes, thatâs a great patch Finding the appropriate video to accompany a track can be really hard.
Hmm, âsquelshyâ. Not sure about that, can you give me a timestamp? The phaser, Ripples and Plateau give movement to Plaits. With the right bandwidth and centre frequency, phaser gives it an airy texture. Same thing happens with Ripples by modulating the resonance and cutoff.
Valerieâs not really contributing much, I could have either removed it or tweaked it more.
The VCF gives what could be called the whale-song. Freak-Ripples is somewhat similar but a little more âtweetyâ.
If itâs the phaser-Ripples combo, having heard the separate effects I had a hunch theyâd work well together. Same with the filters, I was looking for more unusual sounds from them.
Yes, it was the âwhale songâ
Where did you find this video actually?
Itâs a Winamp Milkdrop visualisation
Itâs called âmartin - night in the forestâ. The one I used for the recent Eno cover was âmartin - sunset over the riverâ.
Ahhh⊠is it the module we have in VCV Rack or the separate Windows program?
As far as I know, it wasnât updated to 1.0, at least for Windows. So Iâm just running it as a standalone.
I love the Charles Hazlewood documentary âTones, Drones and Arpeggiosâ. I just watched it again! https://www.charleshazlewood.com/tones-drones-and-arpeggios-1
And then I wanted to try some minimalism using VCV RackâŠ
Well done, @PaulPiko!. Pieces like Rileyâs âIn Câ are kinda inspiring. Itâs a wonder he was not able to come up with a suitable follow-up. Have you (or anyone else) been able to find a workable link to the second episode of Hazelwoodâs documentary. I can find plenty of links to the show notes, but no video links.
Yes, it looks like only the first episode is online (thereâs a link to it from Charles Hazelwoodâs site, linked in my video description). But the second episode doesnât seem to be available right now. Itâs excellent too, covering Philip Glass and Steve Reich. Iâm feeling lucky Iâve seen it. The BBC re-ran it at end of last year. Iâve reached out to find what the official word is, hopefully I hear back from them.
Someone on FB found it: çșȘćœç.æçźäž»äčéłäčçéć.S01E02.2018[髿ž ][è±ć]_ćć©ćć©_bilibili
Good stuff!
Thanks. I didnât think of looking on Chinese web sites. Iâd really like an official release :-).
Charles Hazlewood got back to me, but unfortunately thereâs no official release of the second episode. For now thereâs just the link Lars shared above.
I also found it by digging into some âunofficialâ sources. Very interesting deep dive into Phillip Glass and Steve Reich.
Streaming a little background music with VCV Rack for my eagle webcam
Itâs been a while since I posted anything of mine, but Iâve been involved with some projects. This one is a contribution to the DIY Hard Musician Guide collaboration album.
Iâve been playing some Star Citizen, so used footage for the video
Nice track Paul
Another step along my path to making synth tracks reminiscent of the those from the 70s and 80s. The track title comes from Carl Saganâs famous words in the documentary series Cosmos: âWe are made of star stuffâ.
First time using the @Squinky Organ Three, and it was exactly what I needed
(At the time of posting, YouTube was still processing the HD version of the video)
