MorphWorx Modules

Hi. These are my modules, have fun.

There are manuals on the main Morphworx page.

Release Development Build: v2.1.4 · vurt72/MorphWorx

Modules:

Trigonomicon: Drum trigger patterns for various electronic music styles; IDM, breakbeat, Techno, EBM, amen etc. with Mutation and probability-driven variation. Also has a Bass out for a bass pattern that will very closely follow the drum patterns.

Phaseon1: Performance-focused 4-operator phase modulation synth with user wavetables, formant shaping, and expressive macro control.

Glitch, Please! (port of Mystic Circuits IDUM)

Minimalith: Compact PreenFM2-derived FM synth voice with patch loading and CV-driven modulation. No deep editing. Comes with 1 bank. Has some new functionality which isn’t in the original HW, like randomly mixing two Presets to make a new preset.

SlideWyrm: TB-303-inspired acid sequencer that generates pitch, gate, slide, and accent patterns. This is a port of TB-3PO.

Amenolith: Multi-kit drum sample-player with layered hits (soft, medium hard), roll behavior, tuning and length shaping, and individual outputs. Comes with 10 Kits.

Xenostasis: Self-evolving drone instrument that blends wavetable, bytebeat, and internal feedback into autonomous textures.

FerroKlast: Six-voice FM / Analog style (808/909 inspired) percussion synth for kicks, snares, metallic hats, and unstable industrial percussion. Has ducking, reverb.

FerroKlast MM: Streamlined MetaModule edition with a reduced voice set and tighter control surface.

XORnado (this is a port of ByteBeat generator Viznutcracker, Sweet but with far more options and additions)

Kinetrax (Inspired by Make Noise GTE)

Septagon: 7/4 polyrhythmic drum sequencer with phase-warped motion and independent density control per voice.

Aetherion - Stereo hall reverb with lo-fi tape degradation, shimmer pitch shifting (octave + fifth), freeze, and swell envelope follower. Three character modes (Clean, Warm, Degrade).

Thanks Patrik, quite a collection! Do you plan on submitting the plugin to the VCV library?

They are submitted ages ago (month+), but it just does not seem to get approved, or they just don’t have time, i have no idea. Could also be my build isn’t great, haha. I am pretty new to Github overall.

Glitch please is a lot of fun to play around with, thanks for these excellent ports.

It would be great if synth voice modules can be polyphonic. Just got there yesterday, lots to explore.

Yes, i can maybe expand upon that.

The reason is mainly that these are also available on the 4ms Metamodule, which has very limited performance in comparison to a modern PC or Mac. But i could do pure VCV Rack versions with polyphony and maybe other additions which are CPU heavy.

Whenever VCV Rack has a problem with your submission, my experience is they don’t leave you guessing, they will tell you. I just looked at your plugin submission, and sure enough you didn’t get any response for over a month.

One time I did notice that other developers’ plugin updates were being processed but mine wasn’t. I sent an email to support@vcvrack.com and politely asked about it. It was just a rare case where things slipped through the cracks. My update was then processed on the next week’s cycle. So it does happen. I strongly suggest you reach out to them.

I noticed the commit hash you included in your submission was abbreviated: dc26cb8. I believe VCV’s internal tooling requires the full hash. I recommend that you edit the GitHub issue comment and replace dc26cb8 with the complete commit hash. I think that will get you one step closer to MorphWorx being included in the VCV Rack Library.

Many thanks Don, i will look into that!

Seeing a bug in CLAP version of Rack with module displays glitching out (pun intended). Seems to be affecting all MorphWorx modules. I was trying out Glitch Please and Minimalith. Something is causing the svg to not render correctly. It’s correct when adding the module, but when I open and close it starts happening. It’s only fixed by re-adding plugin to the DAW, in this case, Bitwig.

Good to know. Might be able to set it up and test it, is that PC or Mac?

I got the same bug. Running as AU Rack - macOS. Kinetrax is awesome btw. Great work so far - thanks

Huh, that just happened to me as well. Windows 11, Rack as VST3 plugin in Ableton Live 12.4 beta. After hiding and restoring the plugin window, the graphics are gone.

Using CLAP on Mac

Standalone user Windows 11 VCV pro 2.6.6

Glitch Please has a few bugs I think, for me at least mode 1 and the last mode do not function, the ones in between are fine and alter trigs, but not 1st and last.

edit: now I load it and mode one seems fine but I dont get skips in last mode, I think i need to explore the idum manual first, sorry if i dont what i doing here

last mode is for the clock out only.

i will take a look at the graphics not loading, but i won’t be until next week.

you are right, the manual tells all, it is a little cryptic without the manuals guidance

great module, having a blast programming nasty beats and fills

I used to own 2x IDUM, that was often a bit much to be honest haha.

Oh, I did not include where you can set individual modes for the outs. I think that part got confusing to use. That’s the cool thing with having it in software, you can just add another module, set whatever mode you prefer, i think that’s easier to oversee.
