MixMaster Jr track mute on/off

Hello everyone. I am trying to control the solo/mute functions of the MixMaster Jr tracks by sending 10V signals to its “POLY MUTE SOLO CV” input via a polyphonic cable. However, the resulting behavior seems erratic to me. The modules are patched as follows:

  • The “Mute/solo CV” setting in the MixMaster context menu is set to “Gate high/low”.
  • I send 10V signals to the various mono inputs of a VCV Merge module.
  • The polyphonic output of the Merge module is patched to the “POLY MUTE SOLO CV” input of the MixMaster Jr. Strangely, the tracks that get muted do not correspond to the channels receiving 10V (especially when no voltage is being sent to the channels). For example, if I send 10V to a Merge channel, the corresponding track is indeed muted. But if I remove that 10V (so the channel is now receiving 0V), the track remains muted.

Can anyone explain why this is happening?

Go to the module context menu “Mute/Solo CV” entry and select the “Gate high/low” option instead of the default “Trigger toggle” option.

You could use this to meld the gates :

So you can see what channel you are muting/soloing.

I had indeed selected the “Gate high/low” option. Thanks anyway, Dave, for looking into my problem.

Hmm, can’t replicate your problem. If it helps, for 16ch into the M/S 1-8 port, the first 8 are mute and ch 9-16 are solo.

Once again, you’ve solved my problem! Thank you very much.

Thank you, that’s good to know (even though my problem has been solved).
