midi in and out swapped...

As seen in pictures, midi in is only an option on vcv midi ouput device and midi out is only option for midi input device. any idea why? tips to fix?

Hello, the devices work properly: MIDI>CV , from Midi device as input to the module - outputs CV( v/oct, gate etc.) the other device CV>MIDI CC, from the CV input-> selected CC is sent to the designated MIDI OUT If you like to output Notes to the external device use CV>MIDI module

cvmidi

See the images above. They are in fact backwards

From the monolgue manual

I think the naming is picked up from the device. In Korg’s terms, MIDI OUT on the computer goes to the monolgue MIDI IN, and the computer’s MIDI IN goes to the monologue MIDI OUT.

This is helpful, but i also havent been able to recieve midi from the cv to midi module to the monologue, or send using midi to cv which makes me believe there is more to the story here…

Does the minilouge midi work in any other DAW as expected?

You want to select “monologue SOUND” in CV>MIDI CC to send messages to the synth engine, and “monologue KBD/KNOB” in MIDI>CV to receive note on messages from the keyboard and CCs from the knobs.

The “monologue MIDI OUT” and “monologue MIDI IN” devices allow the USB host to send and receive messages directly through the DIN MIDI ports, skipping the synth engine, iirc.

You might also want to update the monologue firmware to 2.0 if you haven’t already, since it fixes some bugs and improves the MIDI capabilities.

I will check

Okay i have since found that i can get midi into vcv that way, but i never was able to get midi out of vcv. I will try again, and report back. maybe i missed something or a setting in the monologue.

Super appreciate everyones help here. @Dewb @PaulPiko @rsmus7

If you’ve installed the 2.0 firmware, one of the global edit pages (I think page 5?) has on/off toggles for whether the monologue sends and receives several different categories of MIDI data.
