I had been able to use ALSA via Pipewire at first, after installing Ubuntu Studio 24.04, but after a couple of system updates, now all audio from Rack is choppy and broken. Pd, SC, Reaper, Audacity etc. sound fine, only Rack is affected.

hello, i use the same setup as you. in my experience it has to do with rack and the cpu demand in single-thread. i have to decrease audio-rate, then it is ok. and the pipewire version is old on ubuntu 24. it is better to load it from a repo direct. and at last don’t use bluetooth for audio. for me it is not sounding good with vcvrack. i plug a cable-wired headphone and it is much better.
perhaps it helps Greetings Karl
This, I haven’t tried yet – valid suggestion (pipewire has also borked my webcam, maybe an upgrade will fix that).
Bluetooth audio – I never assume it will work well with pro-grade audio apps, though it was OK for me with SuperCollider.
