kaossilator pro and vcv

Hi everybody.

I connected the kaossilator pro with the vcv rack through midi cv as you can see in the screenshot. The clock is ok, but the pattern of my kaossilator pro are not synced with the rythm of the patch.

anyone can help me please?

If the BPM matches on the KOPro and on Clocked, but your sequences don’t sound in sync, it could be because they’re out of phase. With that one patch point you’re only locking tempo, not bar position. This could be tricky to guarantee the results you want, because the KOPro doesn’t have an internal sense of bar phase; it’s up to you whether you line up the loop start points and contents, or not.

What you could do, though, is if you have a main loop that’s always playing, use a MIDI-Gate module to take the MIDI note that fires when you toggle that loop control, and patch that gate into the RESET input of Clocked. (I think the default is that loop A trigger sends C2.) It looks like you’re already sending the RESET out to at least one destination; you’ll likely need to patch that to all your sequencing modules.

And maybe experiment with the clock settings

On Start / On Stop (try the resets), and maybe remove the “Outputs… running” check-mark.

Thank you, but doesn’t work

Thank you, but I dont really understand. Can you explain me more clear please?

Well, first of all, can you confirm that the Kaossilator is sending MIDI clock and note messages and your computer is receiving them? Can you see the clock pulses arriving in VCV, or can you see the raw MIDI messages using a logger program like Protokol? Are you using the USB connection or the DIN MIDI connection to the hardware?

If you’re using the USB MIDI connection on Windows 10, you may need to go through some shenanigans to get the Korg MIDI driver to work correctly. See here: https://thedigitallifestyle.com/w/2019/04/fixing-korg-usb-midi-driver-issues-in-windows-10-may-2019-update/
