Grains has a lot of potential for granular mangling! I’ve been experimenting with live guitar, using a square wave from an LFO to trigger recording but I’m getting a lot of clicks. I’ve tried using Nysthi autoXfade to automatically fade the audio in and out, different window settings etc, but can’t get rid of the clicks.
Thanks, here you go. I thought the issue would be from starting/stopping recording while audio is coming in and not getting a zero crossing point on the waveform, but it seems to be when it goes from recording to playing back. Maybe it just needs a really short volume envelope when it starts playing back? Not entirely sure, but this would be an amazing module if that can be sorted out.
My other request would be for polyphonic playback, like Biset’s It’s Good Cholesterol. That would make it almost my perfect granular ambience generator, cheers!
Edit - I’ve put a quick demo up on my YouTube channel. I’ve pinged you on the other thread to avoid spamming yours
I NEED to hear this in action, this developer is so kind as to give us licenses but if this is as deep as it potentially could be it’s worth a donation! I may be saving more money this year but I can make a small exception for modularception and this is an interesting collaboration… hope it doesn’t eat up all my cpu!
Yes. Seems mostly related to start/stop, but also think some clicks are resulting from the grain positioning… eg, when spread, et al are being exploited.
100% agreed. If the clicking issues can be resolved/eliminated this could end up being one of my default modules.
