It led to three tracks like this:
I did find out though, by comparing closely with Eno’s actual work, that the algorithms on that page are not accurate. Still, it’s the inspiration that counts and it certainly inspired me. I’ll probably have another go in the future, the bug hasn’t left me.
Sadly XFX never made it into V2, what can we use instead Lars? Is the patch available on Patch Storage?
Could the Blamsoft guys not just open source the code if they’re not in business anymore?
Well, probably, not sure if anyone has been in touch with them. I would not know where to start!
I just built the patch in VCV 1 and it works OK. This is always an option if you need XFX modules for instance.
True I still have 1.16 on my laptop, keep forgetting about that! So it is all doable.
Here you go:
You need to give the global Trig button on the left Elsker a push to get it going.
I recommend this:
Many have and finally someone got a word out of them: “We’re thinking about it…”. I wouldn’t hold my breath
Ok, I recreated the patch for Rack v2 but you’re going to need to do some very delicate twiddling with the wavetable to get the tone of the v1 version exactly right. But close enough…
Usually when a company goes out of business their assets (including source code) goes to a creditor. So in general I would expect the answer to your question to be “no”. They don’t own the code any longer.
That said, I have no idea. It’s certainly possible they still own it.
Sounds ok to me
