how to plug a real external instrument?

Hi,

I have plugged my electric guitar on a channel on my external sound card and i 'm playing guitar,my DAW recognize the sound.

problem with VCV Rack (no sound !)

Howewer,MIDI CV recognizes my external sound card where i can choose the specific canal.

Must i use MIDI CV?

Where is the problem?

Hi,

you can use the Audio Module that you should already have in your patch to get the sound from your guitar into VCV.

  1. make sure you select the correct audio Interface
  2. your guitars sound will come out of one of the black outputs (usually 1 or 2)

Everything was correctly connected and the Audio-8 detected my channel (with a green light) but no sound was coming from the Audio-8 outputs.

The problem was not in VCV but in my MacBook privacy settings: Go to System Preferences > Securit & Privacy > Privacy > Microphone > and tick the VCV Rack 2.

Hope that works for Mac users. iii
