How frequently do you use selections?

So, I realized that Selections folder supports sub-folders. Combined Ahorberg module Import Selection context menu, now I can organize and import favorite modules as well without using the Library. So much faster!

i asked originally over in this thread but perhaps the question is better suited here:

has anyone found a way to load presets using some kind of cv interaction?? my dream would be something where i could designate a bank of .vcvs file directories, then use trigger+v/oct to import one of those preset files to replace the current selection … im fairly sure there isnt a way to do this, but ig what im wondering is would this even be possible??

Yes you can do this using the 8Face module from @stoermelder. Set your module with one of it’s presets and use the 8Face to record that state, then record the next preset in the same way, and so on.

This works with any module where presets are accessed via the right-click menu.

I did it in this patch as a shortcut to the preset voices in the Mus-X Synth.

I set the Synth Module with a preset, then recorded that as a state in 8Face. The same with the next 7 voices.

The CV input onthe 8Face will let you cycle through the voices, or you could send a fixed voltage to select voice 5, then voice 2, etc.

thank you for this its very helpful!! unfortunately i misspoke in my post … i definitely meant to say “SELECTIONS” rather than “PRESETS”

my idea is to basically recall small groups of modules using a trigger+cv combo to select which file to recall.

i often do multi hour sets in a single vcv file & usually manage groups of modules by enabling/disabling them using stoermelder strip. i map some midi buttons to a switch to manage which groups are enabled/disabled.

this way i can have several fully developed patches in a single workspace w.o having to worry abt the cpu usage of them all running at once or abt having to load different files in the middle of a set

works well enough but ideally what id love is to be able to utilize the stoermelder strip + strip bay, interfaced using my same midi button controller to swap selections while retaining patch points.
