Hi, grabbed it recently, and was confused with module’ initial state.
For first, here can see some mess with indication’ levels (see gif), this is the same for standalone or vst variant: hora-spectr hosted at ImgBB — ImgBB
Second, when i try to process signal thru this state, i got volume clipped shock in my headphones, at 2.00 a.m., i been barely went deaf lol
So, beware who will try. (If need i can make example video with sound for proof)
Later i manually downing all spectra’s, and checked with it - it seems it works. But i’m still unsure - are all ok with this device ? Since such can say dangerous initial state.
Seems bug or something.
In any case this strange to see in premium module.
Upd: For the sake of avoid incompatibility factor of Hora device with old vcv version, i even did install VCV update (from 241 to 252) for check. Nope, the same.
(BTW 252 It turned out not to be so bad, I did not notice difference in CPU consumption at the same project. So ok, at least Hora help me to migrate to latest vcv lol.)
Had the same problem, reported it to the e-mail above. Never got a reply. That was two years ago. I could never use Spectral Processor again – which is a pity, because it’s a fine module. This bug is just too dangerous to the ears.
Tnx for sharing, i emailed too. Let’s see.
Well, personally for me this is no money question, but agree was hope to another interesting variant of Buchla 296e (already have Spectra and Softube’ unit).
As well had plan to grab Hora drums bundle, now don’t think so.
I’ll tell you what that is, it’s the Xfer on Ext by default. Caught me out first time round, so before you make any connections switch Xfer to either O>E or E>O. Even so, wasn’t impressed with module anyway should have opted for Spectra.
