Hi everyone,
I accidentally destroyed a VCV Rack patch I was working on, and I am trying to recreate a specific sound effect: a swinging bullroarer (that whirring, roaring, low-frequency atmospheric drone created by spinning a wooden slat on a cord).
I managed to record an audio sample of the patch before it was lost. I cannot upload it directly to this post, but if you want to have a listen, I can send it to you separately.
I have also checked my autosave and backup folders, but they are empty. Is there any other hidden way of recovering a previous state of a patch in VCV Rack?
If recovery isn’t possible, I need help rebuilding it. I am trying to remember my exact signal chain, but I know it involved a combination of noise and filtering to get that organic, windy roar, plus some modulation to simulate the speed of the spin.
Could anyone suggest a module signal chain or modulation routing to help me get this sound back? Here is a new rack that I tried, but failed. It is not necessary with the 8Vert, I would just be happy to have a monosignal.
Thank you so much for any guidance!
//Stella
