GPL and US gov. Executive Order 14071

Since Rack is GPL licensed software, this might be of interest, but then since its also closed to contribution, it might be irrelevant, so feel free to delete this thread,

Yeah this is not compliant with the GPL at all. What a weird move. Of course you can’t ban anyone from “using” this code.

That they ban Russian contributors is just nasty, imo.

For VCV Rack indeed not relevant since it’s closed for contribution.

I think it will, sadly, affect the free software world as a whole, in the long run… for example, I suspect github will start banning Russian accounts soon :S (They are, after all, a U.S based company and there’s a section about “Cloud-based services for enterprise management software and design and manufacturing software”)… I still can’t find the sanctions for non-compliance, is anyone aware of what they are?
