GPaudio V 2.1.0 released

Yesterday my plugin was released to the VCV Library:

The plugin contains these modules:

Stereo Chorus
Stereo Chorus Module    Stereo Chorus Module
Stereo Chorus offers up to four stereo voices. Internal and external pitch modulation is available.

Chained Mixer
Chained Mixer Modules    Chained Mixer Modules
A set of three modules that are combined to form a modular stereo mixer with two stereo Aux Send and Aux Return channels. Modules are:

  • Channel - Inputs to the mixer
  • Master - Output section with Aux send master controls
  • Aux - Send and Return sockets and Aux return faders

    AB4
    AB4 Module    AB4 Module
AB4 allows the simultaneous switching of up to four CV or audio signals between two groups of inputs.

    Feedback and suggestions are welcome.
    Enjoy!

Congratulations on your plugin release!

The pitch modulation part is interesting and caught my attention. How does the pitch modulation work? Is this a granular effect or something else?

Very nice, one thing about the chained mixer, when you right click the Aux send 1/2 knob and try to enter the amount, it would be better, IMHO, that you could write “-9” rather than “-8 db”

-k

Actually it is a delay modulation leading to pitch modulation by way of the doppler effect.

Thanks kimmo-laine for the hint, I hadn’t really considered keyboard parameter entry. I’ll see what I can do for the next release.

Update 2.0.1 was released to the library today.

  • AB4: added CV input for A/B switching
  • AB4: Deleted duplicate “Switch” tag in plugin.json
  • Chained Mixer: eliminated warning messages about missing SVG file in RACK log
  • Chained Mixer: Implemented text editing for Aux-Send and Fader parameters
  • Stereo Chorus: Implemented text editing for RATE parameter

Thanks to kimme-laine fot the input here about text editing, this should work now.

Windows users beware, the latest update in the Library will CTD rack. Just wait with updating until it is resolved.

Yes, thank you. Just saw the posts in the other threads.

But it appears the jury ist still out if all plugins released today are affected on only just one (Ouroboros)

FWIW, GP fails for me just like updated Ouroboros and TinyTricks on Win10+Rack 2.6.3 Pro standalone

I can confirm that air win and tiny tricks are also impacted (via user reports of crash with library version and no crash with nightly; and my confirmation that mac releases of both are fine)

Here is a little preview of the Rotary speaker effect I am working on for my next release.

The video shows it in it’s natural habitat with an organish sound made from a bunch of FM operators used as sine oscillators. But the rotary effect also works really well with ambient and pad sounds, especially if the “fast” rotation speed is reduced a little.

In addition to the classic two way design the module also offers an optional three way crossover with 3 independent motors plus an additional treble horn running at a slightly higher speed to make the sound more interesting.

I am not much of a keyboard player and also not into generative patches, so I bought a rather affordable pack of MIDI organ loops and loaded one into the Entrian sequencer. The Count Modula Gate Sequencer controls the “Fast” and “Slow” CV inputs of the Rotary effect.

The basic “motor” control and delay modulation seem to work ok, but there is still a lot of work to do, I want to add volume and filter modulation, depending on how far the mic is from the speakers. So it’ll be a while until I will publish the module in the library.

Just updated my main branch on Github and submitted version 2.1.0 to the library. It should be out in a few days. Hopefully I’ll get a video or two done until then…

Will post a list of changes here, when it was released.

Version 2.1.0 of the GPaudio plugin is available in the library:

  • New Module Rotary - a rotating speaker simulation
  • New module AB8 - an 8 channel A/B switcher for audio and CV
  • Stereo Chorus: CPU optimizations
  • AB4: CV output reflecting A/B state
  • Chained Mixer Master: fixed dead output if only right output was connected

Here are two videos demonstrating the new Rotary module. The first one shows it in a typical setting with a hammond-ish organ sound. I can’t play keyboards, so I used a (somewhat sterile sounding, sigh) blues loop from a MIDI organ loop package:

The Fast/Slow buttons were remote controlled from a MIDI controller.

The next video shows it bouncing around a fast arpeggiated synth sound using the Varispeed CV input for full CV control of the “motors”:

You can get the plugin here:

Enjoy!

Thanks, will be testing this later. Your chorus is the best sounding one I’ve found for guitar, this should be great too (even though hardly anyone uses VCV for guitar effects!).

Another effect I’d love to see is a Uni-Vibe, that would probably be quite hard to get right, and I can’t see many other people using it with regular synth sounds. I got something close using a frequency shifter with a really tiny amount of shift, and a lot of feedback.
