Good sampler modules

The ones most fitting my use case are by Stochastic Telegraph, but unfortunately they crash my Rack. (Crashes Rack · Issue #140 · mahlenmorris/VCVRack · GitHub & there’s issues from others that aren’t going to be fixed, evidently.)

Curious to know what other folks had success with.

Not sure your particular needs. I like SickoSampler, not perfect but very good.

Lomas can be really cool for some glitchy random slicing with some stepped cv.

panther cap for great recording, careful slicing, scanning, reverse, time and pitch controls related or completely separate.

If you have the host module purchased/unlocked, you can use separate sampler plugins in VCV too, but they might have some extra setup required if you’re trying to record input from a rack to the plugin in the host module.

I did pay & have Host available, haven’t thought of it, though I prioritize native modules first.

Thanks for pointers! I have diverse sampling needs, hehe.

After further experiments of my own, I can say that NYSTHI’s samplers (I mostly use the confusing one) don’t crash rack and generally work.

One weak part of VCV sampling is lack of zero-cross snapping, which is kind of automatic in analog hardware world… Even with anti-click at its maximum in NYSTHI’s, for example, it of course still gives pops.

Do you have experience using VST etc. samplers? I there isn’t any lag, is there? Do you have any VST samplers that you like?

Panther cap is click and pop free.

I like the Logic sampler for it has snap to zero crossing, but I’ve had more results with Reason’s Mimic, it comes with the entire Reason rack plugin and there’s a couple other samplers in there too but Minic is more creative and made for single samples I find, there are some other samplers like Falcon but I use that one for its synthesis or Koala Sampler but that’s only for mobile devices I believe…
