Exploring Advanced Techniques with Plugins in VCV Rack

Hello VCV Rack community!

I’ve recently been diving deeper into using various plugins to expand my modular setup, and I’d love to share some insights and hear your thoughts on the best techniques you’ve discovered while working with plugins in VCV Rack.

One of the most exciting things I’ve noticed is how certain plugins can really change the way I think about sound design. For example, using complex modulation plugins for evolving textures has opened up new possibilities, particularly when combined with the powerful sequencing tools available in the software.

I’m curious if anyone has specific strategies for creating unique generative patches using plugins that aren’t necessarily meant for that purpose. I find that sometimes the hidden potential in these tools isn’t fully explored until you push them into unconventional roles.

Also, I’d love to know your experiences with multi-plugin workflows. How do you typically integrate multiple plugins/modules together in a patch, especially when dealing with large, complex setups? Do you have any tips on keeping things efficient or maintaining a smooth workflow in such situations?

Looking forward to hearing your feedback and learning more from the community!

Would love to hear which complex modulation plug-in you are referring to. Cv is life blood to the patch, so an interesting modulation source sounds fun to explore. I have usually used the simplest free vsts in my patching, like Labs or Vaults for a fun instrument or TensJr for a cool reverb, or even a noise engineering distortion plug.

I wouldn’t waste your time replying to this, sounds like AI generated spam on a fake profile.

This is so odd. Why?

I didn’t think of AI when I read it, but the original post irritated me. It talked about sharing ideas, but didn’t offer up anything. Just wanted to take ideas from others. That in itself isn’t necessarily bad for someone starting out, but something about the tone bothered me.

Why not offer some specific examples to start the conversation, and truly share ideas?

My post may have been unclear. Im expressing confusion about why someone would make ai chatbots post in a forum like this.

We get gibberish spam too

Who knows why they do it…

It could be an attempt to gather data to train AI.

Hi Harry and welcome!

This is a really exciting topic, diving deeper into various plugins! I find that what mostly and truly invigorates my workflow is the Rockwell Automation retro-incabulator. Now basically, the only new principal involved is that instead of power being generated by the relative motion of conductors and fluxes its produced by the modial interaction of magneto reluctance, and capacitive duractance. The original Machine had a base plate of prefamulated amulite surmounted by a malleable logarithmic casing in such a way that the two sperving bearings run a direct line with the panametric fam.

The lineup consists simply of six hydrocopic marzel vanes so fitted to the ambiphasient lunar wang shaft that side fumbling was effectively prevented. The main winding was of the normal lotazode deltoid type placed in panendermic simi-boloid slots of the stator. Every seventh conductor being connected by a non-reversable tremi pipe to the differential gurdel spring on the up end of the grammeters. Moreover, whenever fluorescent score motion is required, it may also be employed in conjunction with a drawn reciperocation dingle arm to reduce sinusoil depleneration. The retro-incabulator has now reached a high level of development and its being successfully used in the operation of milferd trenyas.

Hope this inspires and helps you in your journey!

Great write up, thanks!

I really need to employ the ambiphasient lunar wang shaft more often in my patches - has a poly version been developed yet?

that’s the key to the most advanced techniques imho

You could try to polyphonate it with the revamped trionodule multiplexator, maybe? Haven’t looked into that yet.

Great stuff here guys :+1:

Well played. I really want a polyphonic lunar wang shaft now.
