Essential Modules / Libraries Not Available Through VCV Library??

i know several developers have only released things via github etc … im curious in your opinion what some of the best, most essential, or underrated modules are that arent available through the official vcv library page?

Imho this is dependent on your personal needs and taste,
so I would recommend to dl the ones you find interesting,
test them and delete them again if you don’t like them.

Which ones would you recommend?

i suppose more of what im asking is … how do i find them :smiling_face_with_tear: im not really sure of any!

how to find them? Hang out here and discover them.

My guess: there are very, very ,very few modules for VCV that aren’t available from VCV. But who knows?

i suppose ill dig around and share what i find! i think my impression that there were modules not available through the vcv library spawns from when the monome stuff was only available through github, and my friends developing lil things here n there that were never submitted through the vcv library system. but that was in the earlier 2020s (perhaps even pre-2.0) so it seems the times have changed!

These come to mind:

VCV Protype didn’t get moved to 2.0 (yet), but think it’s possible to build something of use for atleast javascript (see the issues):

Wrongpeople didn’t want to move their plugins to the 2.0 library, I particularly liked the LUA scripting module. I think it still builds from:

another LUA scripting module. I don’t know if it runs on current rack - it did midi + osc:

these are awesome!! the prototype module in particular seems interesting to me since i work in pd & sc quite often. ill play around with these (:

When you have the time go here

Scroll down completely, and have a look what’s not ported to 2.0

(you can visit the github sites by clicking on the name ( and some even have a V2.0 version…).
