It is possible to emulate DAW transport playback mode by VCV modules ?
Task - somehow forced to play those vst plugins (inside VCV vst-host module resp) which hard-linked to DAW transport, and respectively can run\produce processing only in playback mode.
Oops, sorry my question changed. Just i tried to load one of such “transport-dependently” plugin (in my case - HY-ESG vst fx) to vcv host module, and found that he already in “Play” state.
Hmm…
Ok, but then opposite question - how to translate Stop state for such vst plugin ? lol
And, in general - how to have impact to all tempo\BPM-related things inside vst plugin ? (like synced LFO etc). Or sorry, more clearly - how to simple translate tempo info to vst host module ?
Thanks, now i understand how it works.
But, by some reason, there is some tempo mismatching.
For example - if i set minimal tempo (30 bpm) in Impromptu module, its still producing quite high speed (i observing visually, by HY-ESG UI in his lfo indicator movements), ie become slower yes, but still not so significantly slower, as wnen i do 30bpm in DAW transport. What can be reason ?
Hm strange, i found that it’s not only for HY plug, in Madrona Aalto (his seq in host mode) the same. And i did check with another clock generator (Simple Clock by JW-Modules) - the same behavior: at default 120bpm in clock, plugin receive (visually) something like 400+ bpm lol. Whereas if set in vcv host module “Clock quarter” instead “whole” - its become produce something similar by tempo to what we see in DAW.
Maybe I still not fully understand some, or maybe there really is some kind of bug with the tempo in the host module?
Yes, (that what i try to do) but do really “whole” mode not should produce some neutral affect to incoming tempo ? (did not check user manual for host module if so, if it exists).
Yes did check start\stop works just nice. (unlike tempo lol)
I think using the highest possible clock 24PPQN on Host and using the CLOCKED x24 out to drive the Host Module gives the best result, and the tempo also follows nicely.
Sorry for late reply (was far from PC)
Omg what is that ? This construction helps in some way to achieve stable specified in clock gen tempo ?
Sorry Yeager, but I don’t think I’m ready yet. But thanks i will keep in mind (and I’ll post back if I experiment with this, after reaching such level).
My testing board for tempo looks like this:
Yes , it uses the 24 PPQN setup in Host-FX ( the more pulses the higher the accuracy of the clock) and it mutes (moots) the output of the VCO when the HY-ESG is stopped (I can’t get HY to stop outputting gates)
I also added a Kick drum for a steady 4 on the floor to play the HY gates against. And the T F/F is just a flip/flop that makes the switch between start and stop when I press the spacebar. The triggered Switch is something I use when I am working on more than one thing at the time and I choose which of the experiments I want to hear ( In this case number 3, but 1 and 2 are not connected).
Were you able to import the selection I attached ?
Oh ok (frankly i just did not tried to load any external (not my) project yet in VCV). Was assumed that it will load missed modules automatically lol. Ok thanks will try.
