Drum Machine Modules for Eurodance/Trance

Hello, what drum machine modules would be good for experimental, IDM, Eurodance, and Trance? I’ve been trying to find a free tr-909 module but all of them are payed, please and thank you

The 4ms are free and based on X0X.

Voxglitch has a fine groovebox module working with samples. There are many free drum samples to discover on the www.

Interesting sounding :+1:

For techno, I’d say Vult Knock and Trummor. They’re drum synthesizers but you can make very good percussive sounds from each.

But if you want straight up 909 sounds, the easiest thing is get 909 samples (I prefer Sample From Mars) and use Sickozell Drumplayer modules and then sequence with whatever you like.

Are there any free sequencer modules?

Did you search the library?

Yes, there are. “Sequencer” is one of the predefined tags to mark modules with, so this term can be used for searching the library. There is even one in the VCV Fundamental plugin that comes automatically with every copy of Rack.

I assume that you don’t have the vst version otherwise there are a number of good vst single shot and kits that may also work well with whatever kit you are making. There are also some single shot drums inside of vcv rack that may work well with what you are doing… I would go to the library and do a search and choose the ones you are after.

Where do I find microsound stuff also

You could try looking up eurorack and looking for microsound and then see if there is a entry in the library for that module. I seem to get stuff in the brave browser looking up that and vcv rack. You can also try the word micro in the library and see if that gets you what you want.

They could probably have that as a tag and have an additional way for the user to have thier own index but for the moment this is how it works and does alot of nice stuff.

Don’t think i have seen “microsound” here before. Maybe search for “grain” on library.vcvrack.com

add: and “granular”

Right we have some fun granular tools and interesting buffer mangling delays and verbs.

What microsound modules do I use?

I’m not familiar with the term, but maybe this can be enlightening to me anyhow - are you asking for microtonal (as in non-12TET) modules, or modules that use granular synthesis as in this article, or are you asking about something completely unrelated?

I’d love to know of modules that fit any of these topics to be honest.
