I’m asking because I just tried this for the first time. The Bluetooth speakers show up in the Audio Modules’ output list under Audio Device but when I select them they deselect instantly.
I’ve checked the MacOS Audio MIDI setup and they are active. I can get sound to them from YouTube.
I just tried this out, and it seems to work for me.
I am running VCV Rack version 2.6.6 on a 2021 M1 MAX (ARM) Macbook Pro.
I connected the computer to the bluetooth device, opened VCV Rack, and in the Audio 2 module (from VCV), changed the audio device to the bluetooth device, and it connected.
Edit: Wanted to add… I’ve personally had issues with connecting to audio devices in the past. I’ve noticed that if an audio device is added during an active VCV session, the audio device list is off until the application is restarted. Try connecting your computer to the bluetooth device before opening VCV Rack.
Yeah I switched on again this morning and it’s working now
Going to come clean and admit that it’s Bluetooth hearing aids that I’m testing. I’ve not been able to do much with the rack for a few months as my hearing deteriorated. Now I’ve got these working I can get on with things again.
(It’s none of my business, but having poor hearing is not something you have to “come clean and admit” to. Edit: That’s no criticism of you, but just a tiny attempt to normalise being unashamed of disabilities.)
