DC blocker on VCV audio when normaling to stereo

I think this may be a bug, just wondering if others are seeing the same.

Apply a signal (say a kick or something) to the left/mon port on the stock audio2 module, and measure your output with a goniometer. I’m getting slight left/right differences in that situation. Those differences are not there if I patch the same signal cable to both outputs, and also disappear if I disable the audio 2 DC blocker.

Is the difference big enough to be audible?

difference on signal phase on low end frequency is critical, also if you can’t ear it. obviously is my opinion.

Please, provide a number?

number for what case?

What version of Rack are you using? This looks exactly like an issue that was fixed in Rack 2.6.1: ‘Fix DC filter accuracy of Right input when normalled to Left input in VCV Audio 2’ (changelog).

If this is happening in the current release version, Rack 2.6.3, please let us know at VCV Support so we can look into it.

I’m trying to find out from you - is this a big error or a tinny error. If there is an audible phase shift, how big is it? You can pick any case at all that you have numbers for. You indicated in your original post that you had measured this error with some sort of meter.

you may be confused, but I am not the original poster

oh, you are right! sorry.

no problem.

I have seen differences in the past, but haven’t been paying attention of late. I agree this seems like a bug.

I wasn’t aware that Audio 2 has a DC blocker option. I need to check that out!

I was seeing up to ≈2dB level differences between left and right. And a goniometer showed phase differences up to 90 degrees. But indeed I am on 2.5.2 so that sounds like a good reason to updater! Thanks @ecuk
