David's Emulation Patches

Hello there, in this topic, I’ll post my patches that aim for emulating various vintage instruments. My emulations are far from perfect and can’t fully replace the sound, feel and playing experience of the real instruments. My first somewhat publishable patch in this category is the emulation of the Suzuki Omnichord, specifically the classic analog version (not the newer successors). I know that there are several patches inspired by the Omnichord, but what mine aims for is replicating at least a part of the playing experience and features of the original. This patch works best with the Arturia Keystep (probably any model, I use the 37), where chords are played on keys and the modulation touchplate serves as the SonicStrings Strumplate. The CC Bank is used as volume knobs (I assigned the controls to the second group, so that it doesn’t overlap with the mod wheel). This is the first version that still lacks some features. In future versions, I plan to add features such as rhythms (and other things found on the original) and OSC touchscreen controls.

Upcoming emulation patches I’m working on are:

  • A Yamaha GX-1-style synth controllable in various ways (I intentionally don’t say Yamaha GX-1 as it won’t be an exact emulation - it will lack some of the original’s features and have some not found on the original)
  • Emulations of home organs (in my opinion very overlooked and very versatile instruments) such as the Lowrey Holiday
