Having an option to align the bacground to top-left, top-right, bottom-left, bottom-right, or center (as now) would be nice.
But X and Y offset paramteres would be more fun… ![]()

One more vote for freezing the image location if possible. (To the effect of green screen, where rack moves on top of an image and can zoom modules in and out but bg stays fixed) I’m imagining application for those streaming on twitch have branded backgrounds without using up precious cpu to do it in obs and those making YouTube videos…
@dan.tilley Seeing an issue when transferring patches between computers when a background image is set. If the image is not present on the other computer, the patch doesn’t open and causes VCV to crash or hang indefinitely. Can you please take a look?
I’ve seen this happen with other modules that store external references. It would be helpful to add an option to ignore the background image if it’s not found. I tested with two patches and when the background image was cleared and the patch was resaved, it opened fine on the other machine.
Doesn’t need to be an option: missing external file is a normal case that should be handled by any module that uses non-resource files, and never crash. That’s just a bug.
Right, it’s a bug, I just said it tactfully. Ideally, yes, the code should check for this and ignore the file.
One more vote from me…Static background would be great. BTW I love this Purfenator…Thanks Dan and have a good one -.-.-
Thanks for the report, this bug is fixed for the next release.

Awesome, thanks!
Ok, this module has surpassed my expectations, thanks everyone for the feedback, it has really helped.
I am feeling very motivated
I have submitted a build for the next update (so I am just waiting for it to be validated and pushed).
Normally I would wait until the new build is actually pushed to the library, but I am very eager to see what everyone thinks of the next update, so here is a little spoiler:
And thanks again to @purf for inspiring this module.
Oh man!!! Multi skiff!!!
Multiple skiffs looks fantastic! Can that feature be disabled? (please say yes)
Yes!! So excited! Thanks so much for doing the extra mile ![]()
Nicely done!
Yes, multimode requires activation, plus vertical and horizontal splitting are independent
One note of caution: I have given absolutely zero consideration to optimisation so far…
Although the module seems to run totally fine for me, my windows system is very high spec.
If you activate all the bells and whistles on a very large patch, there is the possibility that it could eat a low powered machine, I don’t currently have the means to test on other setups…
I hope this is not the case
I have made a MVP update to the manual too Purfenator - DanTModules
So great! Multi-skiff FTW!!! Thanks @dan.tilley
