Is there a module (or group of modules) to convert CV to MIDI within a patch, no external controller involved?
eg, to be able to send CV → MIDI → VST instrument (that doesn’t accept CV) all within the same patch?
to use a vst inside Rack, you have to buy VCV Host.
In host, you have 16 ports available to accept CV’s - each can be mapped to a huge number of parameters exposed by the VST plugin.
Right-click on one of the 16 small rectangles to map a CV input port. I’m guessing that what you’re looking for can be found if you search for “MIDI CC” in the popup.
note gates are often used too (drum triggers etc.)- you map CV inputs to notes in the right-click menu too.
so, the VCV HOST ‘wrapper’ is providing the conversion/rescaling? (eg 0-10 volt = 0-127 MIDI)
