Yep, forgot to comment but I really enjoyed ‘Air Mattress over the Falls’. Awesome work.
I really loved this. Amazingly bonkers! I especially liked seeing Echo fed an irregular clock rate intentionally so as to make the “tape drives” speed up and slow down. All along I hoped people would do this.
Some of your example patching was good, it featured interesting ways to jiggle the time. Gave me plenty of ideas.
Whoah…!
So many great sounds with this one. I love what you are doing with Sofia’s Daughter! The rest I can’t tell who is who!
Sophia is just terrific, I get sounds a bit like a real instrument at times, here I lean on it buzzier throaty qualities, but it has a lot of subtle colors. It is usually a toss up if it even needs filtering, the envelopes carve away a lot of harmonics as they granulate the waveforms. Beautiful design and just beginning to learn the very cool Spice Factory.
Yeah - that is why I was drawn to emulating the Sophia hardware in the first place. I am much more intrigued by additive than subtractive synthesis. I don’t think I have ever used a filter with Sofia’s Daughter. It can sound like a low pass resonant filter sweep, except without losing the crisp high end.
I do like pinging filters though. That is why I am so excited by the Multimode Filter - it is a pinging beast.
Man those super steep filters are wild!! Amazing work, especially fun how complete it is at end chain, filter/feedback/clipping/stereo movement all in one!!! I need to ping it more, now I have a homework assignment.
I talked about my optimum ping configuration on a Virtual Modular thread:
Just curious, I wonder why none of the crossfading morphs include the notch. Did it just not make enough interesting movement? It just seems like a band pass to notch may sound interesting.
Cuz I never thought of that combination. Great idea! I just mocked it up with a VCV Fade module, and it does sound very cool when modulating both the cutoff and the fade (morph) amount! I will add it!
If you have any other ideas, now is the time. Post them on my development thread. If I like them and they are relatively small changes, I will try to implement them for the next release.
I will be submitting the enhancements to the library soon, and then I will be putting aside Venom free module development for a while so I can develop my next commercial plugin.
Damn this is so sick - in nearly all possible meanings of that word! Love the sound you are getting out of Sofia’s Daughter and friends!
