^ This is amazing. Just WTF is going on in that patch?
Thank you for the kind words. But me, I feel ashamed, it is lazy to my ears now. I’m going to improve this further and version it until I truly like it. I’m really going for too much in the drums variety of sounds and the bassline changes too often establish harmonic motion well, so I promise those will evolve into something yet again different. I’m torturing the CSL for the free jazz blasts of synth noise. The rest is sequenced nonsense.
While I welcome self-criticism and a desire for improvements, I think you are being too hard on yourself.
I find the patch to be quite innovative.
The experimental style may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but the sounds you create and the way you arrange them spark a lot of interest.
To me, the track comes across as a strike of brilliance .
Thanks, I just feel like there is a bar I am aiming for with this one and it’s not there yet. I get not being hard on me, I just feel good about this patch and wanna live up to its potential.
I am with @VirtualModular and @Alphagem-O on this - that patch (Hope Knot) is a blast to listen to, especially if you enjoy chaos with a bit of structure (as I often do). So many interesting and wonderfully surprising musical ideas in there. I totally enjoy it as it is, but I can see potential for something more structured as well.
I think someone who enjoys building a song in a DAW would love picking out various voices, sections, phrases, etc. and building a killer song. Definitely not something I could ever do - that process doesn’t interest me. But I enjoy the results when others do.
It might be fun to do multiple iterations of patch refinement, starting from where you are now, but then each time stripping out different components. I’ll bet you could come up with many great pieces, all of them different.
Hi Dave, Thanks for the kind words. You beat me to it,I was planning to do few versions on the way to the one iteration. I did some jiggling of parts into nicer slots today and plan to keep jiggling until it sits right with me. Thanks again and your fabulous plugin is one I love.
I would be curious to here different divergent versions.
Oh yeah I def want to slow the bass for a few measure and few other arrangement ideas, I need to get on the stick.
