Create and use conventional instruments in VCV Rack

As I am trying to create conventional instruments and store them for later use I now have a reasonable amount of instruments. With the Entrian tools, timeline and acoustic drums, I put in some of the old Midi files I have and hook those instruments I created up to the Entrian tools and here is a small example

it sounds as it comes out of another time of synths, decades (70/80) ago. but sounds authentical. Like it.

It took some time to create the sound of the Fender Stratocaster from Hank Marvin of The Shadows, but I think it sounds about right.

In this song from the seventies I also used my versions of conventional instruments like a saxophone, a piano, a hammond organ and some other stuff. It is also the first one where I use a custom sample of a woodblock in the Entrian Drummer

It’s an excellent Hank Marvin impersonation indeed. The only thing missing is the whammy bar vibrato.

My recipe to bring in the vibrato gradually on a sustained note: Each note’s gate triggers an envelope controlling a VCA. The VCA’s input is an LFO. Then mix the VCA output with pitch CV. Mixer output into oscillator pitch cv input. Now the longer the note sustains, the more LFO is added to the pitch CV–a slowly blossoming vibrato.

Chef’s kiss: Feedback the VCA output into the the LFO’s FM input, so the vibrato gradually speeds up as it blossoms.

Many thanks for this input, I hadn’t thought of this but I am going to try it.

Made an old classic with some different guitar sounds, a banjo and a harmonica. Instead of using the Entrian drums I used the standard VCV drums with a gate sequencer
