Changes don't show up from the SVG file

I downloaded MyModule.svg from the tutorial, and whenever I add text it doesn’t show up, also if I used a completely different file, it shows no backbround, but it recognized the components layer

help!

All text objects must be converted to paths. This can be achieved in Inkscape with Path > Object to Path .

You’ll have to provide the SVG file.

Which application are you using to modify the SVGs? If you used something like Affinity Designer and used the built-in FX or gradients on the background layer, that will also cause transparent backgrounds after exporting as SVG. Affinity doesn’t operate in SVG natively, so those Affinity FXs don’t translate on conversion. I’ve found that if you want to do something like a gradient, you’ll want to use Inkscape.
