I was following the steps in the Omri Cohen video on how to use the Minibrute 2S with VCV and both USB or MIDI sync (better for my use) are not working while following the steps.
My Minibrute 2S is on hold and doesn’t receive or send start/stop messages even when sending Clock Out from MIDI-CV module with Minibrute 2S selected to the Clocked Module at 24 PPQN (this was also adjusted in MB2S software).
I’m at a loss on what to try next and appreciate your help with this, thanks in advance.
Sorry for the late reply. I don’t have my Minibrute 2s anymore, but clock sync from VCV Rack to it should be pretty straight-forward to set up.
It should look like this:
Top row says Windows Midi, if you’re on a different OS, it will be something else of course.
Second row is where you select the midi port where your Minibrute 2s is connected to.
If it’s connected via 5 pin midi, this will be the name of the port on your midi interface. Via USB it should be “Minibrute 2s” or something like that.
Then it’s just a matter of connecting the clock to the Clk input on the Midi to CV module.
Also connect start and stop.
Plug it in via USB if you can’t get it to work via 5 pin midi.
In the MCC software, which setting do you have for “Transport Mode”?
My transport settings in MCC match the settings on the screenshot you sent.
I did change the clock to 24 PPQN in MCC and the Clocked module.
What happens now is I can only start/stop using the ‘‘Run’’ button on the sequencer or my spacebar and my Minibrute 2S sequencer is running at 20.4 BPM instead of the 120 BPM in VCV Rack 2.0
The image shows Clocked going out to CV-MIDI at x4 (= 4 ppqn), not 24 ppqn. Make it x24. That’s 6 times faster than you have it now. 6 times your current ~20bpm will then be ~120bpm.
