Cable opacity hot key or macro?

I have been trying to control cable opacity with key command, menu keyboard navigation, and mouse macros with limited success on Mac. Has anyone else tried and had success?

I havent done it, but maybe you could try a combo of my BrightIdea module and Stoermelders Stroke module? (Possibly also a sequencer or switch if you want different opacity levels)
