Boards of Canada - Inferno

So Boards of Canada’s new album Inferno just released after 13 years since Tomorrows Harvest. Just wondering what everyone here thinks about it, and more broadly what are people’s favorite songs/albums from them. Maybe any cool experiences while listening or how they’ve inspired your own music…

Personally Geogaddi and Tomorrows Harvest are my favorites and have been with me at a couple pivotal moments in my life. When TH came out summer 2013 I was leaving for a bike tour around the coast of Michigan and it really made the perfect soundtrack. Moved to a new city that winter and it was kind of rough… didn’t know anyone, worked too much for little pay, smoking/drinking constantly and it was just a long depressing winter. Geogaddi was on repeat in my car and really helped me through all of that.

Anyway, Inferno is fantastic IMO and I got to listen to it while camping out with my dog. 10/10

My favorite song is Age of Capricorn or Blood in the Labyrinth

What did you guys think of it ?

Bought it on bleep.com yesterday, because I don’t use streaming. I think it’s a return to form!

Music has the right to children was always my favourite BoC album but this one’s a cracker too.

It’s a lot darker but still has a few tracks with that signature hazy, washed out sound. I like the chopped up vocal samples in Father and Son, and the vocoder bits on The Word Becomes Flesh. All the tracks are good though, I thought it was way better than Tomorrow’s Harvest.
