Audio gain multiplier

Hello !

I’m looking for a audio signal gain multiplier. All the VCAs I found go from 0 to 1, I would like to go to 3 or more. Is there a module that does that ?

Thanks !

Bogaudio VCAMP amplifies by 12 dB (4x)

NYSTHI CONST ADD MULT can multiply amplitude by up to 100.

Submarine’s AO-106 can do that I think, as well as much more.

Thanks a lot for those indication, I’ll try them tomorrow !

and you can always use any of the ML Sum modules to multiply a signal’s amplitude

AO-106 does perfectly the trick ! Thanks a lot !

Very interesting modules but that will be for another use, thanks

If you are only using 1 slot in the AO-106, there is an AO-101 which is only 2HP wide

Yes, I saw it but I need a few entries

I’ve been using the scaling feature of Bogaudio’s “OFFSET” for up to 10x amplification. (I use it for a lot of things because it’s easy to remember the name and how it works. That counts for a lot.)

OFFSET

An offset and scaler. The OFFSET and SCALE knobs have CV inputs (unipolar, 0-10V). There are two operating modes, as set by the “Order of operations” context (right-click) menu option:

  • Scale, then offset (the default): the output is (input * scale) + output. With no input connected, the output is just offset.
  • Offset, then scale: the output is (input + offset) * scale. With no input connected, the output is offset * scale.

Note that prior to version 1.1.36, there was no mode setting, and the behavior was to offset, then scale. This behavior change might affect older patches.

By default, the output is capped at +/-12 volts (this is a standard in Rack). A context menu option allows this limit to be disabled.

Polyphony: polyphonic, with polyphony defined by the channels of the IN input.

When bypassed: passes IN unmodified to OUT.

Thanks, I tried it but 10x isn’t enough

chain a few after disabling the output capping?

Submarine’s AO-106 can multiply up to 100 and also hase buit-in algorithm to play with to signal inputs, and also can accept up to 8 input signals. It’s more convenient than chaining several modules.

ah yes, those very underrated submarine modules I somehow keep forgetting about…

You shouldn’t ! Very funny toys !

indeed, just so many other modules to vie for my attention that they get left by the wayside. Need to change that, I know

Er, what?

 Isn’t 10x way more than 3x?

nysthi constaddmult
one cell can do x100
4 cell in serie x100000000

Yes but in fact I need much more that 10x, 60x is the average.
