Audio 2/8/16 setting sample rate twice on load?

Hi, I was wondering if there is a way to kind of reset the config for the audio modules as, for some reason, all of them on my PC have deviced to set the sample rate to 48k, then 44.1 each time a patch is loaded.

Windows 11, Focusrite Clarett 4Pre (USB), targeting 44.1k/24bit.

Here is the relevant log area:

You can see it sets up 48k then switches to 44.1k hen proceeds normally.

I want 44.1 but my Interface takes time to sync to 48 then back to 44.1 every time I load rack. VCV Rack’s engine sample rate is set to 44.1. The settings file in appdata confirms this. I’ve tried “Auto”, deleting the settings file, disabling all other audio devices on my PC and testing with each of the audio modules, same thing.

Windows audio is set to 44.1/24bit as is the setting in Focusrite Control.

I used to run my audio at 48k but stepped down to 44.1 to save spiking the CPU. I suspect there is a remnant somewhere. Anyone know where it might be before I bother support with, what is after all, an inconvenience rather than a fault. Thanks.

Is the ASIO device set to 48 or 44.1? I have a similar problem with my UR22C where somehow they ASIO control panel keeps going back to 48. Have to confess I’ve never figured out what the cause is.

All Windows and device settings are set to 44.1 - as are the sample rate selections in VCV (engine and audio module)

Sounds like you may have found a bug. Next step is to send VCV support an email. Yes, I know it’s 2024, but they only respond to email.
