Sorry for my n00b question, but is there any way to get an old VCO-1 in your library? I need it for fine tuning knob. Yes, I know you can use ctrl or shift ctrl for it, but I use mapping to external midi controllers, and with just one big freq knob, I can’t get fine pitch/freq changes I’m looking for.
Or if you have any hints or modules that would help me with very fine tuning using midi, please let me know.
Most MIDI controllers only send 7-bit values, so there is a limit on how fine you can get, unless you have a module that has very fine-grained parameters. Would be easy to implement such a module, but I have no idea what’s out there that could be used. You could probably construct such a thing by scaling the output of one control down and summing it with another to cover the range required.
You could try using Stoermelder Map to control the main freq knob, but patch an attenuvertor before your input to Map. I sometimes do this using Bogaudio Offset, right clicking the range and setting to something like 0.002. You’ll also need a 5v offset to keep the pitch at the same starting point.
I use this for example to get a subtle pitch drift, but leaving the FM input available for vibrato.
Also, the second module I made was a clone of VCO-1, except that it used like 1/6 the CPU. You can still use it, although I don’t know if it’s now “hidden”.
