Any modules approximating the Xaoc Koszalin ?

I’ve heard some pretty spectacular sounds coming from this module and wondering if anything like this exists in VCV Rack:

not the same idea, but interesting and along the same lines, input equals new notes

XAOC Devices Koszalin is indeed a Frequency Shifter (with added features) and not a Pitch Shifter. The difference is in the way the frequencies in the spectrum are shifted.

The difference is shortly described on the XOAC Koszalin product page.

But, basically: Absolute frequency shift (Hz) versus proportional musical pitch shift (semitones/ratio).

Frequency Shifting moves all the frequencies from the source spectrum by the same, fixed, amount (in Hz), thus altering the relative harmonic spacings/ratios, thus also moving integer ratio harmonics to in non-integer ratio inharmonics. This process can soon lead to detuned, weirdy or metalic sonic characteristics.

Pitch Shifting aims to only change pitch while preserving time and the harmonic spacing/ratios. Generally using some form of resynthesis. An inherently more musically friendly process. Though, since this process is somewhat related to time-stretching, it can result in similar artefacts (depending on the resynthesis algorithm).

As with many synthesis techniques, feedback can soon complicate this and have things spiraling out of control. In this case by feeding the shifted spectrum back into the input (mixed in with the original input signal), shifting the ever more complex resulting spectrum again and again in some direction.
