Experimental patches. Unpolished, evocative, organic. Always trying new avenues. Thank you for listening!
Gonna need a link bro!
Krell Variation 20251018
Krell patch based on AD by Bogaudio. Ambient soundscape. Clockless, perpetually changing, six voices. The polyphonic AD module generates 16 (eight pairs of two) different, looped AD-type envelopes of varying frequencies and shapes, plus respective EOC triggers. Some haunting pitch slides.
Experiment 20251021
Ambient generative soundscape. Ambulating sounds, ebbing and flowing, hovering over a canvas of a morphing wavetable pad. Sometimes soothing, sometimes fidgety, sometimes eccentric, but always changing.
Trio of Marmora into Anuli into Nebulae (Sanguine Mutants). Rate of Marmora is modulated by RndC (docB), yielding changes in tempo. Anuli is played polyphonically with six voices, each voice with a different resonator model. Nebulae in Looping Delay mode, feeding into another Delay unit (Surge XT).
Additional modulation supported by Caudal (Vult) in polyphonic mode.
Steve Reich Phasing Variation 20251111
A variation of the phasing technique by minimalist composer Steve Reich using looped samples.
Starting around 1965, Reich experimented with identical tape loops run at slightly different speeds to create sound effects created by phase shifting.
This patch uses two duplicates of recorded sound loops: One of a Cloudrum VSTi (Ample Percussion), the other of a simple drum loop consisting of kick and snare from Drumpad (Image Line). Each loop is either slowed down or sped up very slightly against the other (reference loop), creating intriguing phase effects.
Speed differences are controlled by the CV module (docB), where ‘0’ (zero) denotes equal speed with the reference loop.
Depending on the extent of the phase shift, the patch constantly produces new rhythms or total chaos. If you like a particular moment, set the speed difference to zero.
Samples are hosted in sickoSampler2 (sickozell) and saved with the patch. You can replace them with any sample you like.
Corresponding samples are panned hard left and right for a stereo effect. Headphones recommended for a full experience.
Nice exploration of phasing technique!
Thank you so much! ![]()
Tribal Echoes 20251129
A raw distorted bass drum, string, sine and noise sounds. Echo (Sapphire) for complex delay lines, with its envelopes used for modulation. PatchMaster (MindMeld) as controller for performance.
Before playing the patch, load your own percussion loop sample into Ghosts (Voxglitch).
Fanfare for Sleepless Raindrops
Generative ambient soundscape with ASMR elements and other funky sounds.
Compressor (VCV) is a paid module from VCV Rack 2 Pro. However, it can be replaced easily by any other compressor module.
Distant Voices | Sound Installation
A 29-minute sound installation, created from historic vocal samples over a canvas of lush ambient sounds.
Samples are played at random in Sampler (Lomas). Little snippets are then recorded on the fly and mangled in Nova (Fehler Fabrik).
Samples were taken from the Tony Schwartz Collection. Credit: Citizen DJ, Tony Schwartz Collection at the Library of Congress, Motion Picture, Broadcasting and Recorded Sound Division. Nonlinear Feedback
Study in VCV Rack after watching the modular hardware video by La Synthese Humaine on YouTube.
The patch creates nonlinear, chaotic feedback signals that often persist even when the source signal is turned off. Through most of this demonstration video only the feedback loop plays, while the source signal is turned off.
+++ CAUTION +++ | PATCH MAY PRODUCE HARSH NOISES. Turn down volume before engaging the sound or watching the video!
Setup: A saw wave is sent into a feedback loop consisting of a BP filter (Liquid Filter, Audible Instruments), Wave Mulitplier (Venom) and a waveshaper (Tatami by CV funk). Resulting feedback signals exhibit chaotic behavior.
Main controls are accessed through PatchMaster (MindMeld).
