All poly Envelope Generators only trigger on first channel of a poly gate input

I hope this goers here, seems the most appropriate place.

Maybe I am fundamentally misunderstanding how [polyphony works, but I would expect a poly envelope generator to trigger in each gate of a poly gate input.

Not so, not found one that does.

Even if the module has a retrigger switch for the gate input it only seems to retrigger while gate channel 1 is high. This seems not correct to me, so could someone perhaps explain the reasoning behind this? This has been driving me a bit batty.

Which envelope generators have you tried? Did a quick test setup with the Bogaudio ADSR and the VCV Fundamendals ADSR EG, and both generate polyphonic envelopes based on the triggers received on the polyphonic input

as @not-things stated the VCV Env works

Straight from the sequencer and… it works fine!

Can you post an image of (an essential part of) your patch?

This is a bit batty, as this must be some other issue in my patches. Digging for where the bug is. Just hooking up the following does nicely trigger the VCV ADSR on every channel. But, if I stick this into my template patch it doesn’t do that anymore.

Thanks all for some sanity! I should have tried to isolate that at first, but never thought there is a weird bug in my template patch, which I have been using for ages.

Turns out this was a rookie mistake, never realised. I made the basic template patch when I started to use VCV Rack (0.5.1). Now it jumped into sharp focus where the issue was. Mixer!. While it sums the incoming poly voice it only expects one gate in the level/volume input. So further patching corrections are needed. All clear now, thanks again for setting me straight so quickly!

a true `Doh!` moment

I often screw up my poly patches with one bad behavior module, so easy to do.
