Hello @Ahornberg I found a bug in this module

I’m on win10 , Rack 2.6.2

I tried this in Rack 2.5.2 and 2.6.2 on Windows 10 and it always works as expected.

Maybe apply your patch for further investigastions.

Not sure whether this matters, but I also see the RND slider of the Random module to default to 100% upon using CPP on Rack 2.5.2/WIN10.

However, I also get the same behavior when just copying and pasting the preset from one Random module to the other, i.e. it seems to be independent of CPP.

This makes me think that the problem is more associated with Random itself rather than CPP.

I have to agree, I am on MacOS and it’s not behaving as it should. I would think that it needs some fixing. Post that bug to support…

here it is ahorn-cpp-vcv-random-bug.vcv (1.0 KB)

@Alphagem-O and @fractalgee are you reporting it to the support? so I’m not

Yes, I will report it. Thank you to everyone for verifying the issue.

EDIT: Done :grinning:

Thank you for the patch file. Unfortunately I can’t reproduce the bug.

My module uses the clipboard. Does the bug also appear when you copy the preset of one ‘Random’-module to another ‘Random’-module using copy and paste in the context menu?

VCV Support has already responded (thank you!). They’ve successfully reproduced the issue and are working on providing a fix in a future version of VCV Rack.

Just received an email from VCV Support (Thank you so much!) saying that:

“[…] we’ve fixed the issue with copying and pasting presets in the VCV Random module. The fix will be available in the next version of the Fundamental plugin, which VCV Random is part of.”
