A one shot envelope or LFO?

I feel somewhat stupid here, but I can’t see a (best practice) solution for what seems like there should be plenty of small modules of: on trigger, an envelope goes up, stays up. On next trigger, envelope goes down and stays down.

The only fade in/out modules I find are from Count Modula and Impromptu, but they want to be clicked. Which works for me (the CM one), but it’t be nice to have the Clocked “Run” output do the click for me.

Mindmeld ShapeMaster?

a ginormous module for a tiny task…

A lot can be done with this underrated module, the humble switch:

Love the BOG flipflop, the VCV Gates module does this and a few other handy gate/ trigger outputs.

And if you want to use CM Fade, you can set it to trigger in the right click menu:

I’ll take this, thanks!

You can simplify with a flip flop. Replace the CVMix/Switch combo with a single Flip Flop. Of course the Flip Flop can go before any gated envelope generator.

When I read your post title I thought you were looking for a one shot LFO like is capable with VCO Lab and VCO Unit. But that is entirely different.

And if you only want to use VCV modules, the lowly “Push” gives a nice gate latch when triggered on the “Hold” input.

You can then use whatever other function-generator/envelope/slew-limiter at the end to get the curve you want. E.g:

Or VCV Gates - bigger, but it gives you a reset input in case you need to be able to force a known state.
