Awesome ! Do you think the Spectral Multiband Resonator will also be ported on vcv ?
Dan said he would prefer to get Prism across to the Meta Module.
Such an inspiring collection, thanks for the gift. I will have a lot fun days with the many unique modules. A few have really vexed my imagination already.
Thank you ! I missed that part while skimming through the post
Oops … my memory failed me. Thanks.
@Guenon, Can you try this version?
The -static-libstdc++
flag was accidentally omitted from linux builds, and this one adds it back in.
Installs just like it should, and modules appear in the browser & they load fine!
Thanks
The new version works on my Linux machine now as well. Many thanks!
Seems like this thread is dead. Anyone else using the 4ms Metamodule? Version 2.0-dev has been coming a long quite nicely with a lot of improvements and a lot of modules have been ported over including JW and Sickozell.
I am really considering buying this module. I am curious what the future holds for importing from other developers? I would like to have more filters for example.
The place to be
yes, really. You would think there would be more interest / crossover between the MM and VCV considering. I keep coming here to see the state of development on this side but it’s dead as you mentioned. As a person who runs a marketing agency ( not bragging - no one needs to buy any more shit unless it’s music related of course ) I feel like something was lost in translation with the messaging. The MM presents such an amazing opportunity for people on both the soft and hardware side but it seems like a lot of people don’t get it.
For instance I came to VCV out eurorack curiosity, I honestly didn’t get it being a Max user and having had 20 years of hard ware synths. Within a few weeks I was hooked and within about a year decided to get into modular hardware. Having used VCV was a huge asset in planning out my rig but as with most people there were some things I either didn’t have the budget, space or complete picture of how I would use them so knowing that the MM was actually my first purchase after the case. I knew I could use it to supplement any gaps while I waited to aquire more, test out new ideas / workflows and fill gaps for modules I knew I wouldn’t want all the time.
Now I have a full rack and still use it consistently for modules that would make no sense to have unless you had a huge wall of stuff. I build out MM specific patches to control songs, sounds and ideas and mimic other module fuctionalities using the available fundamental modules.
Just having the 4ms lineup alone is huge and my personal favorite CV funk is up there with Make Noise and Mannequins.
Anyway for anyone reading this the MM is a great tool, perfect for anyone tryin to keep the rack a sane size and although I eagarly await to see where it will go is more than enough value with what it already has to offer.
end rant.
My best guess is that many of the people on this forum with hybrid systems were already Expert Sleepers’d up by the time the MM was announced.
I’ve been interested in the MM since (checks thread date) Sep 2023 and I’d definitely like to pick one up at some point (especially if I find time to do more live stuff) but VCV on a computer + DC-coupled interface + HW rack is already a pretty great combination in the studio.
That said, I wish the MM all success. 4ms has an incredible history of long-term support and I have a lot of trust in their commitment to the platform.
This. I like the idea of MM conceptually. But I also have Expert Sleepers and most of the time use a computer, so using VCV with eurorack is super easy. As well as extensible. I have access to everything in VCV but also VSTs for FX.
Another factor is cost. While I understand eurorack and manufacturing eurorack is expensive, the base cost is a bit of a blocker. Grateful for 4ms porting their modules to VCV too, which I would have paid for probably.
Good point about the es-9 I have one as well and am patched in and out of it like mad. What I did with the MM is create a series of specific functional patches that are smaller and more specific than my main VCV patch which is setup to control everything. I’m especially glad for the MM when I take my rack out to jam so I can leave my laptop.
I feel like if the MM was either more directly linked / licensed from VCV it would make more sense than having these independent boards and developments but that’s probably never going to happen.
The other thing I would find very interesting ( correct me if I’m wrong ) but I think I read the MM is also possibly compatible with max or pd. if this gets explored more / integrated with something like RNBO, this could bring in an entire other set of people / possibilities.
Anyway thanks for your responses !
