No news = no news. If there’s news we’ll hear it!
Haha, somebody started a poll on Reddit asking who VCV should sell to and Logitech is ahead of Behringer.
That is one of the most wonderfully absurd pictures I’ve ever seen, but now I gotta know: does a Britta desalinate???
Vult Bought VCV Rack
Hello David, my most valued friend.
Is this piece of information confirmed, or are you speculating? Or is it a joke?
May the light of Allah shine upon you.
of course , I just kidding, since Mind Meld bought Vult.
…what if Andrew bought Behringer
I offered Andrew one billion Vult coins for VCV, but he declined the offer.
I know a few things. For the people that is eagerly awaiting a new VCV release: Andrew is working actively. Stuff will be released when it is ready.
Maybe I could sell an NFT to help raise money?
Enjoy the last moments of peace around here and prepare for a few months of helping a lot of newcomers out. When VST-VCV is released this forum will be flooded. (which is a good thing, don’t get me wrong!)
We could support Andrew with a new curated thread “You are new? Watch this!” in addition to the “Getting startet with VCV”. I am sure there will be a lot of YT-Tutorials out there regarding VCV 2.0, but the old ones will still be valid. We should sort and categorize all the great tutorials out there and put them in a sticky thread. Possible categories could be: Beginner Patches, Intermediate Concepts, Blow your mind Patches, Rebuilding Hardware-Synths, Technical Stuff, Hardware Integration, Module Tutorials, …
I remember as a newbie to modular the one thing I really wanted was 1 or 2 basic patch examples per module so something like a bare bones patch comprised of the fewest required free core modules plus the module in question to demonstrate key functionality and usage.
Like each module in the library has a user manual link, a link to demo patches would be ideal.
A similar feature that would be great would be a way to search patch files for a particular module, something doable e.g. with Notepad++ using find in files once you know a module ID, but being able to order results based on the ratio of modules would be handy so if your module of interest is 1 of 9 rather than 1 of 50 it’s more than likely has a key contribution in the patch. Actually on reflection a patch browser of any sort above and beyond an Open File dialog would be welcome.
Oh I like that idea, this would be awesome for @stoermelder STRIPs. Imagine a database, where you could filter for author / module / module-tags / module brand / no. of modules / strip-tags used in a STRIP.
Want to see what omri has done with Sample&Hold?
module-tag: Sample&Hold && No. of modules: <=5 && author: Omri
.
And of course all from within STRIPs Menu. And with the ease of a button-press you could upload your strip to the “stripcloud” - get your subscription now for as low as 3 stripcoins per month!

I think that’s a great idea, but if I understand correctly, a change in the patch file format is coming in v2. The new format will be zipped (to include assets like the wav files for a sampler, etc), and therefore less easily searchable by such tools.
@main.tenant It is very good idea for learning by example. I actually one time downloaded entire patchstorage/vcvrack catalog and searched it within for modules just like that. @augment It is really not that hard to implement index over zip contents to search for
I’m actually interested in doing something like that but I won’t invest any time as long as Rack v2 and its API is uncertain as it is now.
Uncertain? Didn’t you watch the “what vcv 2.0 will be like” video?
They say if you say the name Aria Salvatrice three times on here andrew comes out of a mirror to hide the thread
Aria Salvatrice, Aria Salvatrice, Aria Salvatrice.
(Waits…)
Could we stop with this please? Thanks.
