I come from the Land Of Moog, in the 70s. I never got over playing with a Model 55 modular, so I wrote a book (see Amazon) detailing how to make your own modules back in the 80s. VCV is a way of my avoiding going broke with Eurorack hardware. I’ve done programming and engineering in my career and in my hobbies.
