water patches

After watching this video, I am starting to try and create a similar patch in VCV. Here is my first attempt! The core modules are the resonant filter CF100 by @andy-cytomic , the POP module (a trigger generator based on radioactive decay) by Sapphire @cosinekitty, the super sample&hold by @CountModula and some Plateau Reverb by @valley.audio . It is fun to do sounddesign in between creative projects!

(My free time is almost over, so it may take a while before this one is finished, so feel free to post your own water patches!)

Excellent work. I’m slightly obsessed with making watery textures - drips, rain, bubbles etc, so this is one of my favourite topics! Have you tried using the particle noise mode of Plaits? I use one of the polyphonic clones (Surge Twist or Pallete) and run 16 channels with a stereo spread module for a bigger sound. You can hear that at the start of this piece, can’t remember if I shared the patch but let me know if you want it.

I also made a similar sound to yours with the Cytomic filter, which is at the end of this video:

Finally, this was a strange guitar effect that I thought made it sound like it’s underwater, like waves of the sea or something. This was using polyphonic bandpass filters, resonant phasers work well too:

Patches are shared for these in the description. It’s something I keep coming back to as it’s really satisfying to make. Pop works well for triggers, but I also like to use the step output on the Bogaudio LFO, and make it polyphonic using Polycon into the V/oct input. Let me know if you have any questions on these.
