VCV Rack + p5.js: Anyone Exploring Audiovisual Systems?

I’ve been learning p5.js recently and experimenting with a small interactive system between visuals and VCV Rack — visual data modulates the sound, and the audio comes back to affect the visuals.

I wrote a Patreon article about what I’ve been thinking through this process: creative coding, feedback systems, and why I prefer not to start teaching modular synthesis with a sequencer. It’s available in both English and Chinese, and you can read it by joining as a free member.

I’m also curious if anyone here is using VCV Rack with p5.js or other creative coding tools for audiovisual or interactive systems. Would love to see what you’re working on and exchange some ideas!

Oh, nice! I actually use your visual modules in VCV Rack quite a lot, I didn’t know you had also experimented with p5.js. Really curious to see how you connected the two — I’ll check these out. Thanks for sharing!

Too long ago now, I can’t remember exactly how I got the audio from VCV Rack to the browser…

I do remember at one point I used a hardwired loop-back, literally a cable out of my computers headphone jack then back into an input on the mobo…
