He has recentily put a story on instagram, where they were using Vcv with his father.
They were using a Webcam to midi converter program, and they managed to get notes by hovering their hands in front of the Mac. It sounded good !
Btw, Sunvox is really nice too, i used to compose small chiptunes on it on my first year of university 
Talking of talking of VCV… Last night I started Dance Music Manual (V4) by Rick Snoman and VCV is featured heavily in Chapter 8, an intro to Modular.
