Submit 2.20.0 submitted ;), and what comes next
The Circles and SUB beta period is officially complete. Both modules have now moved into the main Submit Audio collection, and Submit 2.20.0 has been sent to the VCV Library.
A big thank you to everyone who tested the beta, tried to break things and shared feedback. Your reports directly improved clock handling, Dice behaviour, Random mode, gate articulation and several smaller details.
Next week I will also begin working on the MetaModule versions of Circles and SUB. The goal is to preserve their musical behaviour and sound while adapting the interface and DSP carefully for the MetaModule hardware.
This update also adds a selectable clock rate to the relevant clock-based modules:
- 1 PPQN remains the Submit Audio standard
- 4 PPQN is available as a compatibility option
- The setting can be selected from the module context menu
This should make the modules much easier to combine with different clock systems without changing their normal behaviour.
This weekend I am heading to Dutch Modular Fest in Rotterdam for music, interesting conversations and hopefully plenty of new inspiration.
Meanwhile, the next Submit Audio project is already taking shape: Machina.
Machina is an eight-scene modulation and control environment with gates, CV and LFO outputs. The concept and panel design are already partly developed, but it is still an early project and will undoubtedly evolve.

Hmm, would be great if one could paste settings from the Beta to the GA version of the module, as that does not work. Otherwise seems as solid as the last beta.

Your modules are always a good time, I haven’t done much with them yet because I’ve been busy with other projects and catching up with other modules but I know you’ve got a good selection! Too bad my exploration with your new bass module is overshadowed by the recent release of Pure Sub by Arturia…
After spending a few more hours making music with the collection, I found a couple of improvements I was still missing.
Sync now has CV inputs for start and stop, making it easier to control the clock from other modules and performance patches.
Clang has gained several additional CV inputs, providing much more control over its sound and behaviour.
These updates are already live in the VCV Rack Library: Submit Audio modules in the VCV Rack Library
I have also completed the MetaModule versions of Circles and SUB. They are building successfully, and I will now test them on the actual MetaModule hardware.
Ah, I thought it was still a patch containing the beta versions of Circles and SUB. Those patches are easy for me to convert to the final modules.

Thank you, that’s really nice to hear! There are certainly plenty of modules to explore now, so take your time. 
And yes, Arturia’s timing is suspiciously good! Luckily, I believe there is always room for one more bass module. You can never have too much sub, only neighbours who disagree. 
Hoping to mingle with some recent modules this week but I have to find a good balance with new plugins I’ve discovered and their audio demos can get quite long, but I’ve got some good food to eat around my workouts and I’ll be more likely to make some noise after putting some recent plugins in external storage too… might spend a bit more time with your instruments instead of something like your effects or the new step sequencer so it’ll eventually crawl it’s way in a rack sometime
