Squinky Labs Announcements. Updates to Sequencer, and bug fixes in 1.0.6

Version 0.6.14 of the Squinky Labs modules just hit the plugin manager. There’s a bunch of improvements and small things.

We have a new VCO called “Saws”. It’s an accurate recreation of the Roland Super Saw from the JP-8000. Love it or hate it, it’s an instantly recognizable sound, especially for those who have listened to 90’s Trance (or the chorus to Rihanna’s “Only Girl in the World”). It’s also a good way to get a huge pad quickly, and without using much CPU. saws-panel

Cool

Yay! Good stuff Bruce, although that was a very amputated summary you gave there  I recommend y’all (see what I did there?) to give Saws a spin, especially play with detune and mix, it’s a lovely module. Also the LFN module now has a low-frequency-mode on right-click, and there’s a new edition of Chebyshev. Nice work Bruce, go play people…

Hell yes thank you! super saw’s are always welcome.

Btw anyone know what happen to Autodafe’s WarSaw?

This is my latest patch using SAWS as the main sound at https://patchstorage.com/show-a-little-tenderness/ & https://youtu.be/YiuPKAqxAMI

Enjoy

I always have problems downloading their stuff. I think last time I had to contact them to get it.

I made a little sound taster of the new Saws module, hope you don’t mind. I just really like it. Thanks again Bruce!

By the way, you tuned it to C5 rather than C4

Love this thing. Now I can do stuff I usually do in Serum, use a tightly tuned supersaw one octave above a sine wave for some really massive bass sounds, without spending much CPU at all.

And strings!

I think all the Squinky VCOs are tuned that way. I think OC asked for that (?)

Saw an octave above a sin - that’s the famous “Even” waveform from EvenVCO!

I only mentioned it because the recommended default/standard is C4:

Audio-rate oscillators should use a baseline of the note C4

If you have a choice of following the spec, or following Omri, which would you choose?

Oh now, that’s unfair  I still say the standard, we are civilized men after all.

Yes, I am included to agree with you
